Fatal crash in Ashburton

At approximately 1.30am on Friday the 18th of September 2009 Police attended a motor vehicle crash on Wakanui Road, ASHBURTON.

The crash involved a singe vehicle which was travelling East on Wakanui Road. The driver lost control of the vehicle prior to Milton Road South and the vehicle collided with a power pole on the roadside.

The vehicle was driven by a 21 year old local male who died at the scene. He was the only occupant of the vehicle.

The cause of this crash is yet to be determined.

Next of kin enquiries are yet to be completed at this stage.
