Attempted robbery at Lyall Bay
At about 7:45pm on Saturday 19th September 2009 an attempted robbery occurred at the G & S Superette situated on the corner of Onepu Road and Apu Crescent, Lyall Bay.
A lone male offender entered the store and produced a knife at the attendant whilst demanding money from the till. The attendant activated an audible alarm causing the offender to run from the store empty handed.
The offender was last seen running in an easterly direction along Apu Crescent.
The offender is described as:
• Light skinned
• Tall and of slim build
• Wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt with a white shirt underneath, a blue and white bandanna across his face, black jeans, black gloves, dark coloured shoes with light coloured soles and a light coloured stripe on the side.
• The knife is a large hunting style knife approximately 30cm long
Police would like to hear from anyone who saw this male in the vicinity of the G & S Superette on the evening of Saturday 19th September 2009 or has any information that will assist the investigation.
