Firearms incident in Manukau City

At about 2.35p.m this afternoon Police were advised that a man previously involved in a verbal altercation with a second person, had returned to his home address where he was seen in possession of a firearm.

Counties Manukau Police with the assistance of the Eagle helicopter attended the scene in Sunnyview Avenue, Shelly Park, Manukau City. There a 23 year old man was located in an intoxicated condition and in possession of an air rifle and a shotgun.

This man will be appearing at the Manukau District Court tomorrow charged with unlawful possession of firearms and being intoxicated in charge of firearms.
