Results from New Zealand u19 Inter-association

The finals of the New Zealand Inter-association under 19 competition are being played in Christchurch

After two rounds the top seeds North Harbour and second seeds Auckland remain unbeaten. There was nearly a major upset in the first round where the 6th ranked team Manawatu had tie point against the favoured Auckland team. Manawatu led the tie 5-2, Auckland came back to level the scores 5 all. The last mixed doubles match was the decider, close all the way, Manawatu winning the first game 21-19, Auckland the winning the second game 2-19, all down to the third game. Manawatu looked to have it in the bag at 20-16 up but Auckland pulled it back to level at 20 all and win 22-20 to win the tie 6-5. Talk about get out of jail.
