New Zealand Secondary Schools Netball Championships start Tuesday
The New Zealand Secondary Schools Netball Champs will be held at the SBS Events Centre in Timaru starting next week from the 6th – 9th October.
Twelve school netball teams in total from the Upper North Island, Lower North Island and the South Island will be competing for school pride with the hope to become national champions.
To make the final twelve, each school competed at one of the three regional competitions around New Zealand. The top four from each region progressed to the New Zealand Secondary Schools Netball Champs.
“This competition showcases the passion and talent of school aged Netballers within New Zealand. For some players this may be their first time at representative level and they will be relishing the competition.” Says Netball New Zealand High Performance Director, Tracey Fear

Verdon College
Craighead Diocesan
Marian College (First time qualifiers)
Lower North Island:
Tu Toa
Palmerston North Girls High School
Wellington Girls College
St Mary’s College
Upper North Island:
Mt Albert Grammar
Auckland Girls Grammar
Saint Kentigern College
Westlake Girls High School (First time qualifiers)
Players identified through the Regional Secondary School Competitions have an opportunity for selection in the 2010 New Zealand Secondary Schools team.
