Roads closed in Central North Island due to snow and weather

Police advise that due to adverse weather conditions and/or snow there are currently a number of state highway closures in the central north island.

SH 1 Waiouru (Desert Road) is closed, as is SH 5 (Napier to Taupo Road) and SH 49 (Waiouru to Ohakune).

Police advise caution in other parts of the central north island.
