71-year-old man assaulted

 Earlier this afternoon Police were called to a serious assault in the Dargaville area, where a 71 year old male suffered serious head injuries. The armed offenders squad were called to the Dargaville address, but a male who Police believe was the suspect gave himself up before the AOS arrived and without incident. Police enquiries are continuing.
