Slips cause delays near Kaikoura

On State Highway One from Cheviot through the Hundalees to Kaikoura there are numerous slips partially blocking the road.
Roading contractors are in the area attempting to keep the road clear and safe for the travelling public.
There may be delays as the contractors are clearing the debri off the road.
There has been heavy rain in the area over the last few days which has caused the movement of rock and debri down the hillsides and across the road.
Mortorists are warned to take care and drive to the conditions.
