Traffic extremely heavy out of Wellington

This is a general traffic update for motorists heading north out of Wellington along the Kapiti Coast. Traffic is already extremely heavy between Paraparaumu and Waikanae and at times is not moving at all. Passing lanes are closed along portions of State Highway 1 in this area for safety and traffic flow reasons.
