Lake Rotoma search still unsuccessful

 Local police report their search this morning for the missing fisherman has thus far been unsuccessful.

They have now released details of the missing man. He is Graham Frederick Hatcher, a 64 year old resident of Whakatane.

Mr Hatcher's 12 foot alluminium dinghy was found yesterday about 7 pm on Lake Rotoma going round in circles, about 100 metres off shore. No one was on board. A life jacket was found in the boat.

Local residents in their boats and a helicopter searched, but were unsuccessful.

This morning police and coast guard searched again, again also with the use of a helicopter. The search will continue this afternoon with the Police Dive Squad.
