At about 3.00pm this afternoon, Police and emergency services were notified of a light aircraft which was having engine trouble over the Franklin area of Counties Manuka, Auckland. The lone pilot has tried to make his way to The Ardmore airport but due to the nature of the engine trouble, decided as a precautionary measure to land the aircraft in a paddock.

The landing took place on the corner of Tuhimata road and Runciman road Karaka.

The pilot landed the aircraft with no injury to himself. The plane suffered light damage to it's propeller and landing wheel.
