Fatal assault in Otara

Counties Manukau Police are investigating a homicide. At about 4.00am this morning a male was assaulted in Kew Lane, Otara. As a result of the attack he died at the scene.

Detective Senior Sergeant, Pete Jones says, today we have arrested and charged a 33 year old male with assault. Postmortem results are due back tomorrow and this may result in further charges being laid.

‘Police have not yet identified the deceased and encourage anyone with information about the attack to come forward’, he said.

The offender will appear in Manuaku District Court tomorrow morning.
