Motor vehicle collision Karangahape Gorge

Police advise that a car and a tanker have collided in the Karangahape gorge. The collision is approximately two kilometres west of the rest area. Police are assessing injuries to all parties, but preliminary information indicates that no life threatening appear to have been sustained.

The gorge is now blocked and Police expect the road will be affected for about an hour.
There are no alternative routes available once traffic leave Paeroa for Waihi. Motorists travelling the Karangahape Gorge are advised to expect delays.
