Stabbing in Whangarei

Whangarei Police are currently dealing with a stabbing which occurred at about 12.30am today as a result of a party in an address in Morningside in Whangarei.

Neighbours reported a scuffle outside the address which a male was seen to pull a 4-inch blade knife and stabbed another person in the same confrontation.

The victim received significant damage to his clothing but fortunately suffered only minimal injuries.

Police are still conducting preliminary enquiries. A male in his late teens is now in custody and is being spoken to.
