Maitai Valley incident

Police are dealing with a serious incident in the Maitai Valley in Nelson. Details are sketchy at this stage. Police will issue a media release when we are able however it is likely to be several hours or longer. We are getting a large number of media calls however we will not be issuing further information at this time.

Media are asked to refrain from calling either Nelson Police or the Southern Communications Centre regarding this incident until a further release is made.
