The Queenstown police have requested that the Queenstown Lakes District Council assist with an emergency traffic closure and traffic management in the Queenstown central business area.

Due to homicide investigations Camp Street is closed today from Ballarat Street to Church Street. There will be no vehicle movements or pedestrians allowed access into this zone.
The Council will therefore need to maintain manual traffic control until further notice as this closure affects the wider CBD traffic flow.

Only essential traffic will be allowed to enter the CBD, this traffic will be given access to the CBD via Rees Street from Shotover Street.

The Council would like to thank the community for its cooperation and patience with this matter. It should be anticipated this limited CBD access will be in place for the remainder of the day.
