Child in hospital after being hit by car

At about 3.30pm yesterday Police attended a single car accident at the intersection of Bader and Idlewild Dr in Mangere. This vehilcle has run over an 8 year old child dragging her for several metres before it came to a complete stop.

The Police Serious Crash Unit have completed their scene investigation and are continuing with follow-up enquiries. The intersection was closed for a couple of hours but is again open.

The child suffered extensive injuries which consisted of a deep cut to her ankle which bled profusely and has been classified as status 2.
