Drugs charges for Porirua man

Wellington Traffic Alcohol Group (TAG) have arrested a 44 year old Porirua man overnight after discovering drugs and other items in his possession.

Members of the Traffic Alcohol Group stopped the driver in Melling, Lower Hutt, at about 10.30 pm and seized methamphetamine, a smoking pipe, two imitation firearms and a large amount of cash from him.

Road Policing Senior Sergeant, Doug Rowan, says the apprehension has probably prevented further drugs and firearms offending by this person in the near future.

The man faces a number of charges and further are likely to follow.
