Missing man found dead

At about 12.30am this morning, an 82 year old male was reported missing by his family in the Hamilton suburb of Beerescourt. Police immediately carried out searches of the vicinities and located the missing male deceased in the nearby Waikato river.

Although the preliminary assessment is that there appears to be nothing suspicious about the death, police enquiries are yet to be completed.

The identity of the deceased will be released in due course and all media enquiries to be directed to the Hamilton Police.
