Sexual Assault in Clendon

Counties Manukau Police are asking members of the public to help identify a male who sexually assaulted a female in the Clendon Shopping area.

On Tuesday the 1st December 2009 at approximately 11.45pm a male followed a female before tackling her to the ground and sexually assaulting her. He ran off when passers-by were alerted to the victims screams.

The offender is described as a Male Pacific Islander in his late teens - early twenties, short stocky build, approximately 170cm tall with short dark hair on the sides and longer bleached Blonde hair on top.

He was wearing a White round collared t-shirt, a hoodie which had a black background with light purple Maori designs and New Zealand written underneath, light Blue faded pants and White running type shoes. He spoke broken English.

Police are seeking witnesses to the incident and appeal for members of the public who disturbed the offender to come forward. If you have any information that can assist in this investigation please contact either:
