New-Look Paper Plus Store Opens In Paraparaumu
Paper Plus will unveil an exciting brand makeover to Paraparaumu shoppers with the opening of a bigger and better, new-look Paper Plus store in Coastlands Shoppingtown in early December.
It is one of the first stores in the Wellington region to adopt the leading New Zealand-owned book and stationery retailer’s new look, following the announcement last month by Paper Plus of a $22 million national expansion.
The Paper Plus Group plans to refit its entire network of 106 Paper Plus stores over the next two years.
The Paper Plus store relocated last month to its new, much larger site in Coastlands Shoppingtown, five times the size of the original store. Paper Plus Coastlands will be completely revitalised as part of Paper Plus’ national roll-out of its new brand.
The store will offer an enhanced in-store experience for shoppers, including a new store layout, an even greater book and stationery offering, and a new dedicated children’s area. Book-lovers will be delighted by the enhanced book range on offer in the new store, which means they’ll never miss out on the latest bestsellers and great reads. The increased range of stock will provide even greater selection for shoppers, while the new displays will make items easier to find.
The store’s owner Rob Clarke is more familiar with the Paper Plus Group than most, being one of company’s founding members. As an owner/operator of 30 years, Rob has been in Coastlands Shoppingtown from day one, opening the Coastlands Book Shop in 1979 with his mother Louise.
Rob’s father Basil would work on Saturdays, while his wife Kaye sold books to schools and libraries and his brother Jonathan worked upstairs in the bookstore’s offshoot business selling computers.
In 1983 Coastlands Book Shop became a foundation member of Nationwide Stationers, which in 1987 became the Paper Plus Group chain of bookstores and stationers. The opening of the latest store coincides with the re-launch of Paper Plus’ new national brand presence.
“After 30 years in business, we’re looking forward to this exciting new phase in the history of the store and enhancing our already extensive book and stationery range for customers. A great feature will include a book find service for our customers, which will be a useful addition to the book section,” says Rob.
In addition to having a great range of books, Paper Plus has as its books spokesperson Kerre Woodham, who does monthly book reviews as part of the Paper Plus Books Choices programme. Kerre’s Choices are always available in store – so shoppers can rest assured they are in for a pleasurable read! Avid readers can also share their thoughts on the books Kerre reviews on the Paper Plus website (www.paperplus.co.nz) and keep up to date on the latest releases.
Kids don’t miss out either, with a special Kids’ Club area including Kids’ Choices Book Reviews, fun games, and a great range of art supplies.
“It’s great to be part of the only New Zealand-owned and operated book and stationery retailer. We are extremely proud of what we do and are always looking at ways in which we can do things better. This is an exciting time for Paper Plus and I look forward to seeing great success with the new store,” says Rob.
