Sonys Playstation3 was launched in New Zealand today with Harvey Norman stores across the country opening at midnight to sell the much anticipated console.
With 80% of stock pre ordered by customers Invercargill store proprioter, Rachel Bryce, believed the stock would sell out fast.
While the invercargill store had 25 customers through their doors hopes were high for a big nation wide turn out at the chain.
Only 4000 Playstation3 entered the country for todays openig and the new console has some impressive features including; Blue ray dvd drive, 60 gig hard drive, psp conectivity, wireless controlers and internet gaming.
The basic Playstation3 console with 1 controler is selling for $1199 though for the serious gamer more options are available with 23 games already available in New Zealand to choose from and Sony enticing buyers with a free copy of Casino Royale on dvd.
