Wind warning for Kaikoura area

Police have been advised of high winds in the North Canterbury, Kaikoura coast area. ther have been a number of trees blown over state highway 1. Through Kaikoura there have been a number of house roofs blown off.

Motorists are warned to take care when travelling through this area.
There is a large amount of wind blown debri in the area.
