She is also a travel writer, focusing on provincial New Zealand. Hailing from Southland, but based in Auckland, Nicola spends plenty of time out in the backblocks exploring the best this country has to offer.

Fiona McRae began her career in catering in London that continued on her return to New Zealand. She is a partner in a kiwifruit orchard and is enthusiastic about using local seasonal produce. No longer working as a caterer, she is a non-fiction editor with a special interest in cookbooks.
