NORTH SHORE CITY

Police are appealing to the public for information regarding an aggravated robbery at Westfield shopping mall Albany.

At 10.20 am on Wednesday the 16 of December 2009 at the car-park of the Westfield Mall, two security guards from a security van were the victims of an aggravated robbery.

The two male offenders were heavily disguised with one carrying a hammer which he used to threaten the guards. The security staff were shaken by the ordeal.

The offenders made their get-away in a stolen 1994, Black, Mazda, Lantis, driven by a third male. The vehicle had been reported stolen that morning from Mairangi Bay. This vehicle was located immediately after the robbery in the nearby Warehouse underground car-park.

Three canvas bags containing plastic canisters which contained an undisclosed amount of money in $20 and $10 notes were taken.
