Elderly lady missing

An elderly female was reported missing at about 6.30pm today to Police after having gone missing from her home in Mt Albert some hours earlier.

Sonia Carden is 76 years of age and suffers from alzheimers. Given this, and the time lapse since her disappearnce, Police and her family holds concerns for her safety and wellbeing.

Shes described as 5ft 4in with olive skin, wearing a black cardy and grey pants. Shes also wearing 3 gold chains around her neck, one with a cross on it, another with a brown crystal.

Police have combed nearby areas without success and are continuing with enquiries. Search and Rescue will be deployed at first light.

Police intend to release a photograph of Sonia tommorrow if by then she has not been found.
