Council has reappointed incumbent directors to the boards of three companies owned, and one company jointly-owned, by Council.

Council confirmed the appointments to Waitaki District Health Services, Waitaki Development Board Ltd, Whitestone Contracting Ltd and Omarama Airfield Limited (fifty percent owned by Council) yesterday as part of the annual review of company directorships.

Council has appointed Mr Ian Hurst as a new Director on the Waitaki District Health Services Board and re-appointed Ms Koa Mantell and Mr Ken Scott.

Council also reappointed Ms Natalie Evans to the Board of Whitestone Contracting Ltd for a further three year term and reappointed Mr Hugh Cameron to the Board of Omarama Airfield Ltd for a further three year term.

Additional reappointments were Mr Michael Ross and Mr Tony Caldwell as Directors of Waitaki Development Board Ltd until such time as Council amends its Directors Appointments Policy.

Waitaki Mayor Alex Familton commented on the increased number of directorship applications this year and the high quality of applications.

“It is pleasing to see the number of people expressing an interest in directorships steadily increasing since 2005. It is also pleasing and encouraging to see that we are able to attract applications from so many people with a great depth of ability and experience,” he said.
