Hyundai New Zealand has announced that it will once again be the naming rights sponsor behind the 2010 Hyundai National Bowling Championships.

The event, to be held at the Hutt Bowling Club in Lower Hutt and hosted by Bowls Wellington will run from December 28 2009 – January 8, 2010, with finals to be held on the last day of the event.

“Hyundai has a strong relationship with Bowls NZ and the bowling community and we are pleased to again be aligned with a sport and bowling demographic, which suits our customer profile perfectly,” says Darren Kirkland, Hyundai New Zealand Marketing Manager.

The 2009 Hyundai National Championships saw the nation’s top bowlers compete and show off their world-class skills in the toughest of competitive environments. Hyundai’s support of the 2010 event, the third National Championships it has supported, is again welcomed by Bowls NZ.

“The Hyundai National Open Championships is the most prestigious event on the Bowls NZ calendar. There are not many other sports where club members can find themselves competing, and even winning, a national title against not only NZ’s, but other international representative players. We are thrilled that Hyundai have continued their support for the Championships which has attracted more players than last year,” says Bowls NZ Marketing & Communications Manager, Rajal Middleton.

The 2010 event marks the fourth year that Hyundai has been involved in Bowls in New Zealand and once again as official sponsors of Bowls New Zealand, Hyundai is proud to offer all Bowls NZ members some special offers.

Bowls NZ members will be able to redeem $25 Warrant of Fitness checks at their local Hyundai dealer, and any Hyundai vehicle purchased from a Hyundai NZ dealership will see $250 go towards to the purchaser’s local bowling club and for any new vehicle sold, an extra $250 goes towards the sport.
Bowls NZ members will also receive a unique Bowls NZ/Hundai key ring with any test drive taken through a Hyundai dealer.

“In February, Hyundai NZ presented Bowls NZ with a cheque for $7,250 to the sport of Bowls, for the sale of 29 new Hyundai vehicles to Bowls NZ members, purchased during a similar promotion last year – it will be great to be able to present another cheque in 2010,” says Kirkland.

Also up for grabs this year is the ‘Hyundai Drive Challenge’ which will see one lucky bowler compete to take away a Hyundai Santa Fe for a Classic Kiwi weekend escape. Anyone can enter and entry forms can be found at the event head quarters during the competition.

“The Santa Fe is a great family vehicle, and it will be great to see one talented bowler come out on top and to be able to take it away for a weekend.”
