Attempted aggrevated robbery in Birkdale
North Shore Police are seeking a man who entered the
Levesque Liquor Store in Birkdale and attempted to rob
the shop attendant at knifepoint.
Detective Constable Laura Ellis of the North Shore CIB says
the attempted aggravated robbery happened at about 1.15pm
on Friday 18 December 2009.
The offender presented a black handled knife with a serrated
blade at the shop attendant demanding money, alcohol, while
threatening to use the weapon to seriously injure the attendant.
The male shop attendant showed remarkable courage and presence
of mind in the face of this threat. He carried on a calm conversation
with the offender.
Soon after the offender left the store without taking any money or
property. He told the shop attendant that he was 15 years of age
and that he needed money to support his drug addiction. Police
have issued a description of the offender.

Age - 15 Years
Height medium; - thin build
Clothing - dressed in black woollen beanie with a brim,
black long sleeved hoodie,
dark coloured loose fitting pants,
dark coloured shoes, black sunglasses,
Offender had a "hicky" [love bite!] on his neck at the time of this offence.
