Wellington Highway Patrol out in force

Police are warning motorists that they are out in force on Christmas Day - and that poor driving behaviour and speeding motorists will continue to be targetted.

The warning comes as the Wellington Highway Patrol staff report a high number of speeding motorists on Wellington's motorways today. One motorist was caught speeding at 139 km/h, whilst a 73yr old lady was also caught travelling at 130km/h.

A number of other speeding motorists have also received speeding tickets - and Police are urging motorists to drive sensibly and enjoy a safe and happy Christmas on the roads.
