Fatal Waikato accident

A fatal accident involving a car and motorcycle occurred on Kopaki Road, Waitomo just after 4pm today. The crash site is about 2kms west of the Kopaki junction on Kopaki Road. The road is partially blocked as emergency services work to rescue the injured and examine the scene to establish the exact cause of the crash.

Update - An update for the fatal crash on Kopaki Road earlier this afternoon. The deceased is a 38 year old man who was the rider of the motorcycle. His wife, the pillion passenger, has been taken to hospital. Her status is unknown. The occupants of the vehicle were uninjured. The cause of the accident is still under investigation however speed and alcohol were not factors.
