AUCKLAND

Emergency services at Auckland International Airport were placed on Standby when an Airbus A340-200 operated by Aerolineas Argentinas, reported the shutdown of its No. 1 engine.

The flight, due to arrive at 10.15pm with 229 persons on board, landed safely without incident at about 10.24pm.
