Review of Special Education: Discussion Document

Associate Minister of Education Heather Roy will next week visit Evans Bay Intermediate School in Wellington, where she will launch the discussion document for the Government's Review of Special Education.

At 8:30am on Wednesday February 3 Mrs Roy will join Evans Bay Intermediate Year 7 students and their parents for a powhiri as they are welcomed on to the school for the first day of the 2010 academic year.

"The Government is committed to supporting New Zealand's students with special needs. To achieve this, however, we first need to know what is working in special education and what is not. The discussion document provides people with an interest in this area to have input into the review and help us to support students with special education needs," Mrs Roy said.
