Flooding closes Napier Taupo Road

2.07pm - Police are advising motorists that SH 5 known as the Napier-Taupo Road is now closed to all traffic due to wide spread slips and flooding. There is no time frame for the re-opening of SH 5 at this stage.

Motorists travelling between Napier and Wairoa are being advised to take extreme care due to further slips and flooding along that stretch of the highway.
