This year’s Hong Kong Sevens will take place from March 26 to 28 at Hong Kong Stadium and Cathay Pacific Airways, who are a Co-Title Sponsor and Official Airline of the Sevens, is getting the fun underway by offering local and international rugby fans the chance to win four tickets to next year’s event.

With the Wellington Sevens “going off” this weekend, New Zealanders have a unique opportunity to enter the video competition. Cathay Pacific is inviting people to submit a short Sevens-themed video which demontrates the fun of the HK Sevens. The best of these will be shown at this year’s event. The winner – to be decided by the biggest cheer from the crowd – will receive the grand prize of four tickets to the 2011 Hong Kong Sevens and four Economy Class tickets.

Fans can get full details of the how to enter the video competition through www.cathaypacific.com/hksevens. Visitors to the dedicated Sevens site can also sign up for a live Cathay Pacific Twitter Feed that will enable them to stay up to date with matches during the three days of the tournament.

Cathay Pacific will also be running a number of other Sevens-related activities via its online and social media channels.
· Timely Sevens posts will appear on the Cathay Pacific Blog
· Tweets from the Cathay Pacific Twitter account on Sevens-related topics will be posted as a warm-up to the main event
· Those who send tweets with Sevens-related content with #hksevens will stand the chance of winning a Cathay Pacific-branded Hong Kong Sevens souvenir, with 10 prizes a day being given out starting 22 February
· The Cathay Pacific Alibi application can step in to help those left with no time to update their Facebook or Twitter status during the rugby
· Fans can win Cathay Pacific souvenirs by submitting their funniest Sevens photos once the tournament gets underway
· Travellers can enjoy a special Sevens edition of the popular downloadable Cathay Pacific City Guides

Cathay Pacific’s Marketing Services Manager in New Zealand said: “New Zealanders are always great supporters of the Sevens and with the Wellington event this weekend, it is a great build up to the world famous Hong Kong event. Cathay Pacific’s aim is always to make the Sevens a more enjoyable experience for everyone, and this year we’re making good use of our social network channels to build up the excitement and anticipation among fans around the world.”
