At approximately 9:40am today Police, acting on the information from the public, arrested Kevin Polwart in Auckland City.
He will be appearing at the North Shore District Court later today charged with offences relating to his escape from Paremoremo Prison on 16 December 2009.
The officer in charge of the case is Detective Senior Sergeant Kim Libby, North Shore Police.
Police will be making no further comment at this stage
