Police are seeking public assistance to identify the next of kin of a deceased 53 year old male.

James Michael McCarthy, born on 24 December 1956, was admitted to Middlemore Hospital on 29 January and died on 3 February as the result of an illness.

Prior to his death Mr McCarthy resided in a caravan park in Papatoetoe.

Anyone with information regarding Mr McCarthy's next of kin or family members is urged by Police to contact Counties Manukau Police on (09) 295 0200 or the Bereavement Care Service at Middlemore Hospital on (09) 276 0000.
