Road closed due to serious crash

15:15 Police and emergency services are dealing with a serious injury, two-car crash on Whitford Road, just east of the Whitford Road bridge.

One of those involved has injuries reported to be potentially fatal and the road has been completely closed to allow the scene to be cleared.

Traffic is already backed up and motorists are advised to find alternative routes, avoiding the area.

No further information will be available until serious crash staff have completed their investigations.
