Waitakere Police are investigating the aggravated robbery of a female Maori Warden while she was on her rounds in the Henderson CBD yesterday.

Police say that at 11.15am on Thursday 11 February 2010, the warden was on routine foot patrol in the vicinity of Great North Road and Edmonton Road corner when she was confronted by three teenage youths.

The offenders were armed with a knife and screwdriver.

The victim had her pink wallet and personal documentation taken from her. Over $200 in cash was stolen.

The victim provided police with excellent descriptions of all three offenders, and security surveillance footage of the area is being examined. Police say they would like to hear from any members of the public who were in the area.

Police are also investigating two other aggravated robberies yesterday.

At 10.00am two males attacked and assaulted a female Korean restaurant owner soon after she arrived to open for business in Henderson.

The victim was the sole person inside the restaurant when she heard a knock on the front door. She observed a male at the door and then unlocked it to ask him what he wanted.

The offender delayed the victim until a second man entered the restaurant through the back door. This had previously been unlocked by the victim.

The second offender went to the front counter area, grabbed the victim’s handbag from a small shelf and ran to the outside via the rear door. The 47 year old victim grabbed the offender’s arm but she was pushed heavily to the concrete and has received cuts to her right elbow.

Both offenders left the restaurant and were last seen running across the car park of the Railside Avenue entrance to the West City Mall. An undisclosed amount of cash, credit cards and other personal documentation was taken.

Police have a good description of these two offenders.
At about 3.30pm on Thursday 11 February 2010, two Korean male students were walking in Konini Road, Titirangi, when they were robbed of their possessions by four male offenders.

A cell phone and an mp3 were among the items taken. Police later went to a New Lynn address where they arrested an offender who was in possession of the stolen property. A search for the three male associates is still continuing.

Anyone who has information that will assist Police with their investigations is urged to contact Detective Sergeant Murray Free direct at Henderson CIB on 09 839 0629. An anonymous option is via Crime stoppers on 0800 555 111.
