Homicide investigation - Aotea Terrace, Huntsbury, Christchurch

Christchurch Police have today commenced a homicide investigation after the body of woman was discovered by a friend and a relative at a residential address in Aotea Terrace, Huntsbury, Christchurch.

Acting Detective Inspector David Long says that the investigation is at an early stage. A scene examination has commenced with the assistance of ESR scientist and other forensic experts.

A portion of Aotea Terrace, Christchurch has been cordoned off and residents who live in the immediate vicinity are being escorted to and from their homes. Police hope to have the road open to normal traffic later on Friday night or Saturday morning.

Police are particularly interested in any unreported incidents of thefts, burglaries or other activity considered to be suspicious that has occurred in recent weeks in the Huntsbury Hill area.
