Cyclist struck by car in Paeroa - Updated

A serious accident has happened at 187 Rotokohu Road, Paeroa.

An 11 year old male cyclist has been struck by a motorcar.

The boy is in a serious condition and arrangements are being made for him to be flown to Waikato Hospital.

Rotokohu Road will be closed at Te Aroha Road (SH26) until further notice.

UPDATE

The 11 year old boy struck by a vehicle at Rotokohu Road, Paeroa is currently in surgery at Waikato Hospital.

His condition is given as critical.

It is too early to give any indication whether the driver involved will face any charges, as the accident is still being investigated by police.
