Counties Manukau Police are investigating an aggravated robbery that took place on 12 February 2010 outside ASB Bank Otahuhu.

At about 4.40pm Armourguard staff entered ASB Bank Otahuhu to uplift a cash deposit assignment. This included a green vinyl bag and ASB fast deposit slips used for the storage and transportation of money.

"Upon exiting the bank Armourguard staff were approached by a male Maori/Polynesian who presented a single barrelled firearm at them and told them to 'put the bag down', which they did. The offender took the bag and escaped with an associate driving a stolen RAV4 motor vehicle. This vehicle was located a short distance away", said Detective Sergeant Wati Chaplow.

Following Police examination of the vehicle it is believed that the offenders maintained possession of a green vinyl bag with serial number Z154420. Inside this bag were seven large plastic ASB fast deposit slips each containing an amount of money.

Police are keen to recover the green vinyl bag and ASB fast deposit slips (similar to those pictured).

Police also want to identify a male (pictured) seen outside ASB Bank Manurewa at about 10.15am on 9 February 2010.

Anyone with any information that may assist this investigation should contact Detective Sergeant Wati Chaplow, Mangere CIB on 09 250 0519 or 027 280 7743, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
