Men fall from Piha's Lion Rock

Two men have suffered serious injuries after falling about 20 metres from Lion Rock, Piha, this morning.

Police were contacted at 12.20am and advised three men had climbed Lion Rock, but that two, believed to be in thier 30s, had fallen, landing on rocks below.

Police, fire, and ambulance staff attended, and the two men were transported to the Auckland Hospital by the Westpac rescue helicopter.

Police are investigating the incident, and the circumstances that caused the men to fall.
