Changes to secure information handling implemented
Lower Hutt Police accept all the findings of the IPCA investigation into how the Mongrel Mob obtained a confidential Police operation order.
Changes were implemented last year to address deficiencies around security of information identified in the report. Lower Hutt Acting Area Commander Inspector Geoff Gwyn says it was an opportunity to review local policies and practices around the security of operation orders and to the wider issue of security of all information.
The incident has also provided the opportunity to educate Police staff in their responsibilities around the security of information.
