Police concern after 9 year old boy approached by stranger

Yesterday (Thursday 26 February) a 9 year old student was approached after getting off his school bus on a rural road in the Lower Kaimai's in the Bay of Plenty. A male person in a white car drove past the boy, then turned around stopped and asked him to get into his car. The boy reacted very well and ran off.

Police are very concerned by the actions of this person. The vehicle is described as a white four door car. The driver was a male in his thirties, olive skin possibly part Polynesian, wearing a white tee shirt, possibly jeans and he had a pot belly.

Police would like to speak to anyone who saw this car in the Belk Road and Griffin Road yesterday between 2 pm and 4 pm.
