AUCKLAND

At 0800 hours on Monday 1 February a lone male committed an aggravated robbery of the Mt Albert TAB, 945 New North Road.

When a female staff member opened the rear door, backing onto a parking area overlooking the train station, the male approached her, his hands placed in his pockets indicating the presence of a weapon. He forced her inside to an office and had her kneel on the floor in front of the safe while pressing his still concealed weapon into the back of her head. At his instructions the victim opened the safe and filled a backpack supplied by the offender with cash. Before leaving the offender tied the victim's hands behind her back.

The offender left behind a red "Active Intent" brand back pack .

Aged 18 or 19 years
Approximately 5' 7" in height
Sporting a moustache and goatee
Dark blue cap
Plain light grey hooded sweatshirt, worn with the hood up, open at the front with a white shirt underneath
Light blue jeans
White trainers
