Update on Taihape double fatality

This is an update in relation to the report of a double fatality that occured north of Taihape on 17 August.

A 4x4 vehicle containing the two deceased and 4 other passengers left the road and struck a bank 15 kilometres north of Taihape at around 0940 on the 17th.

The two front seat passengers were both killed. The 4 passengers in the rear of the vehicle were treated for minor injuries only.

No other vehicle was involved in the crash. Both deceased, a 48 year old male and a 48 year old female, were from the same family. Next of kin have been advised.
