The search for the missing rower on Lake Dunstan has resumed at first light this morning, Sunday 07/03/10.
There are 2 boats on the water and the police dive squad is searching underwater.
Due to the time delay police are now in a body recovery stage. It is not expected that this person would have survived in the water.
Lake Dunstan is still cordoned off from the Dairy Creek boat ramp to the Clyde dam. This is the last 500 metres of the lake before the dam. The rest of the lake is still open to the public.

Family have been informed. The male has been named as Alexander John SMOLENSKI, aged 60 years, from Alexandra. He was a life time member of the Alexandra rowing club and was regularly rowing on the lake. He was considered to be a fit and healthy man.

Sergeant Ian Kessisk.
Alexandra Police.
