Lake Dunstan Wakeboarding Event

Notice is hereby given that the Southern Lakes Board Riders Club will be holding a wakeboarding competition on the Kawarau Arm of Lake Dunstan, adjacent to Old Cromwell Town, on the weekend of 20 – 21 March 2010.

It is proposed that the competition will be a one day event commencing at 8am on 20 March 2010 and concluding by 8.30pm weather permitting. If however delays are caused by weather, mechanical or other problems, it is proposed that the event will continue on Sunday 21 March 2010.

The course will commence and finish adjacent to the Melmore Marina boat ramp and will incorporate the area between the boat ramp adjacent to the Cromwell Oxidation Ponds and the eastern bank of the Clutha Arm (opposite The Junction).

The public are informed that in the interests of safety, there will be a 5 knot speed limit for boats using the lake adjacent to the course i.e. between the boat ramp adjacent to the Cromwell Oxidation Ponds and the eastern bank of the Clutha Arm (opposite the Junction) and that boats will be prohibited from the area defined as the course during the events.
