PIHA

A search is continuing for a 15 year old boy who missing in the water at Piha.

Police were alerted at around 3.00pm that the boy, who was boogie boarding, had not come back to shore. Inflatable boats, the Westpac helicopter, and a fixed wing plane have been used to look for him, but other than finding his boogie board, there has been no success in locating the boy.

The plane will remain looking for him whilst there is daylight, and the search will continue in the morning if he is not located this evening.

It is understood that his father and friends were at the beach with the boy when he went boogie boarding.
